Coimbatore Beauty Parlour: Beauty Business
Based on 2004 statistics, there were 1500 beauty parlours in Coimbatore.
Can you believe it? Imagine, how many beauty parlors might be there in Coimbatore right now in 2008?
It is a human desire to maintain your body and skin. Since we lack both time and patience, most of us prefer that someone else does it for us as only then can we relax and enjoy.
It is estimated that there are over 1,500 beauty parlours in Coimbatore. This explosive growth has come about in less that a decade's time, says Indu whose family owns three parlours - one on Town Hall Road and two in Anna Nagar and is planning a fourth. She endorses that beauty business rakes in money if only you are able to give "superior and satisfying services" to your customer.
What scares the Jain family successfully running their salon in KK Nagar for almost two decades now is the mushrooming of beauty parlours.
"The problem is an unregulated business with no monitoring,'' says Mr.Rishabh Kumar Jain and shares that nearly 1,000 parlours in the temple town are run by either unqualified or inexperienced diploma holders from their homes.
"There are women who do not want to be seen visiting a parlour and are comfortable walking into the house of her friendly nextdoor neighbour or are known to enter a parlour after sunset to avoid being spotted easily,'' says Indu, who also feels that beauty clinics have undergone a sea change over the years. The big ones who can afford are fast converting into complete centers of fitness and personality enhancement than simply restricting themselves to beauty lifting services.
The low investment-high return feel good factor of beauty business lures young girls take up a career in beauty procedures and techniques. Coimbatore itself gets 60-odd students from the Women's Polytechnic besides an equal number from other crash courses every year. While some of them join the big parlours to acquire practical experience, many it seems start business straightaway from their homes and garages or even makeshift sheds investing as less as Rs.50,000.
Can you believe it takes Rs.6000 to Rs.10,000 for hair straightening in Coimbatore?

Coimbatore Sex & Coimbatore Beauty/Coimbatore Girls/ Coimbatore Women
Coimbatore Sex & Coimbatore Beauty/Coimbatore Girls/ Coimbatore Women
Sex is a very pure concept - theoritically and practically!
It is all about perspective. It depends on culture.
If you are a westerner, sleeping around with differnt women is fine, but if you are a easterner, it is not. Whatever, it is - after marriage - you have to have Sex with only one person. That is something both westerner and easterner agree to.
From Coimbatore perspective, Sex is something, which has to be had and enjoyed with only one person - throughout your life. I agree with it and it is correct.
Since Coimbatore is a conservative community, even talking about sex might offend someone or elders. Better not talk about it.
There is an advantage to having sex with only one person throughout your life - you prevent lot of STD(Sexually transmitted diseases) like AIDS spreading around and our health is also good.
It is good for health to have sex once in a day with your spouse - in other words it is good for your heart. It reduces the risk of heart failure.
Do you know Coimbatore has too many sex workers (prostitutes - who trade body/sex for money) than many other districts of tamil nadu? I believe the count is reduced these days. Do you know Coimbatore has more HIV affected patients in the Government Hospitals
than most of the other districts of tamil nadu? sad, but I think it is true.
Soceity has to grow up further and young adolescents have to get Sex education, and be aware of good and bad. They should be literate enough not to do anything wrong. The youngsters has to be motivated enough to make sure they are walking towards their
goals, instead of doing some wrong things in their youth stage.

First McDonalds launched in Chennai - will McDonalds come to Coimbatore?
Global Food Retailer McDonald's was launched in Bangalore, Mumbai long back, but there was no McDonald's in Chennai/Madras for long time.
Recently, McDonald's was launched in Chennai and there was a first day inauguration for that.
The food chain has also blended various Indian spices to prepare an extensive vegetarian menu, including the McVeggie burger, Paneer Salsa Wrap, McAloo Tikki burger and Pizza McPuff.
My question is: When it will be launched in Coimbatore? Is Coimbatore ready for an international fast food? May be it might take 5 years to get international food chains to come into Coimbatore! Is it good for the existing food restaurants and hotels?
Launching it is simple - Get a Franchise from McDonalds corporation and start the show...!

Coimbatore Wisdom: Hard work and Persistency pays off
Coimbatore Wisdom:
As we have talked about setting goals, we need to work hard and be persistent.
In order for us to achieve the goals, we need to keep doing the stuff needed.
If we are quitting, we are never going to achieve what we want to achieve.
Quitting is a worst thing any achiever would do.
Even if we fail, we will have to keep hitting the wall to have the wall broken. Only exception is - if you find that it is a wrong wall, you need to quit and find some alternate arrangements.
Anyway, you will see joy, if you get the taste of success - out of your persistent hard work.

Coimbatore Wisdom: Goal is clear - no one can stop
Coimbatore Wisdom:
Once the goal is clear, no one stop you in this world.
First of all, we need to set goals for life - short-term, mid-term, and long-term.
Write it down and it has to be by-hearted too. Anytime you should be able to say, where you are going.
All of the time, it has to ring bells for you to go towards that track to achieve what you want to achieve. Once it is loaded into your mind, then automagically you will be doing things towards that particular goal.
Once you realize that you are on your track and you see indications of success, NO ONE can stop you.
Purappadu thamizha - unnaikkaapppaattra...un kudumbathai kaappaattra...intha samoogathai kaaapppaattra!!

Coimbatore Wisdom: Getting up early
Coimbatore Wisdom:
No matter, what time you sleep, if you get up early from bed and start your day early, you feel you have lot of time and lot of things achieved in a day.
You get a feeling that you have a lot time ahead of you and you are ahead of all of them who are still sleeping.
In addition to getting up early, you need to plan for the day, in advance. So that even though you wake up early and start your day - you don't waste your time, by doing stupid things.
If you are not already doing it, try it for one week and see, you cannot get away from the habit.
You have a lot to achieve in this world and you have to make use of the time available in 24 hours for you!

Drinking in the day time!

In Coimbatore, it is very common for some of the road-romeos, to drink in the day-time, even though they don't have money for food and to give to the family.
These folks won't even have job, food to feed their family - but he would be the first person to appear while the wine shop opens. He will drink and lie down in the road unconciously.
Even though, drinking in the morning is common in western culture, they will make sure they are doing their work properly in their weekdays and enjoy in weekends and vacation times. But our poor folks are really spoilt because of liquor, when they don't even have money for lunch/dinner.
There are various rehabilitation centres even in Coimbatore working on these kind of cases.
The real sufferers are the family women, who do not work, but expect money from husband, because he is considered the actual bread-winner. I have myself seen many cases like this very closely.
Atlast, you know what happens usually? Yes - the ladies start working to their capacity. That is what happens.
There are various SHG(Self Help Women's Group) who have started working and they are rocking in whatever they are doing, which is improving their life and their children's life to the maximum!
