Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu -- 02/23/2011 -- Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) is a process improvement approach that can guide in improving organizational functions, setting improvement goals and in the standardization of quality processes. CMMI is a prestigious and internationally accredited model for best practices in software and organizational development. The comparison of a company's model with that of CMMI standards is called an "appraisal" and this accreditation is awarded by the Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute in U.S.A.Dot Com Infoway's CMMI process began about year and a half ago. The Management of the company formed the SEPG (Software Engineering Process Group) team under the leadership of Ms. Kalai Selvi Vijayakumar, the Senior Technical Manager of DCI. The SEPG team prepared the "MyQMS" for the company in accordance with CMMI standards. Then, the team educated the entire organization and trained them on how to implement and improve quality in client projects. The final appraisal by KPMG happened in January 2011, and the results were announced after SEI completed the audit formalities. Projects in Software Development, Web Application Development and Enterprise Application Development from Chennai and Coimbatore developmental centers were appraised. Most of the projects were from publishing domain, e-service, legal domain, ERP, e-commerce and CRM. After the final audit, the company has been appraised with Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Maturity Level (ML) 3 (version 1.2 Dev).
Being appraised at Level 3 of CMMI is a milestone in Dot Com Infoway's corporate graph as it is a testament to the company's commitment to product quality and efficiency. Commenting on this, Mr. C.
