I got all the above information from a coimbatore related website It has more information.
Coimbatore Passport office has become hub of money market. One has to necessarily apply passport in tatkal scheme, otherwise, the same amount of money to be paid to agents, you will get your passport on time through normal application. Most of the people are waiting for their passport for more than 3 months. Tele-enquiry number is for ceremonial purpose only and no one attends to the call. So better be careful, either you apply in Tatkal scheme or submit application through agents (don't go and wait in queue thinking that Passport office is clean) I can assure you will never get passport through normal scheme) application)
ReplyDeleteYah, i do agree to the comment, Coimbatore Passport office is for tatkal scheme only. Please don't apply a normal application. I applied under normal scheme and later paid an agent hefty amount after waiting for 2 months and now understand that my passport application file is missing. God alone can save us from this Government babus. Better get your application done through tatkal.
ReplyDeleteCan you believe people an application no K000001 which was applied on 01-01-2008 is yet to despatched and it is for 2 yrs old kid. lol... So is our friendly Coimbatore Passport office. So better luck guys. It seems Tiruchy was better!!!
ReplyDeleteI had applied for my kids passport in Jan this year. I applied through an agent but till now there is no response. They tell us to go directly to the passport office. Cost of passport Rs 600. Getting the passport from them Rs. 3000! Who do we complain to? Emails dont work, telephones dont work. Money??? Even this wont work here it seems! Anyone has a clue what to do?
ReplyDeleteWat is the procedure to apply for a paasport in tatkal scheme? did they require any specific documents other than the normal proofs? can anyone help me please ?..

It is too sad to hear that someone had cheated you with a blog.
ReplyDeleteIn addition to the applypassport blog, I also notice that "cheater" has viprocity blog. I guess, that is also not trustable. Be wary about these cheater blogs.
Did you send a cheque or cash? If it was cache, we cannot really do anything about it.
ReplyDeleteHe seems to have an address, why can't we catch him?
Thanks for your concern, it was a cash transaction and there are ample of people out like him. On my experience, I am suugesting not to trust him for the benefit of this bloggers. The address was also given in the other blog (http://applypassport.blogspot.com/), somewhere near to american college building. We were in a hurry to fly overseas and didn't pay attention to chase him.
ReplyDeleteI have applied for passport on july 4 of this year at coimbatore.. Specially tatkaal scheme.. Till now i am receiving.. I think what they are doing rather to despatch . My friend had applied at normal after one month of my applied date. Now he got it. Why they do like this? I am so much vexed.. I lose my idea to do higher studies in abroad.. Because of this problem.. Cha.. What government office?
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI have applied for a passport by Tatkal thro one of Ameture agent. I have paid rs. 4000 in addition to the govt. fees. He filled up the form and directed me to a Passport Checking officer. He signed and receved. I got the passport in 6 Days. What a powerful agent he is? I wondered.
This is my experience.
Dear Could you please give me the address details of the agent who helped you to get the passport within 6days. So that it will help others. Thanks
ReplyDeleteThe Passport Office in Coimbatore has proposed to introduce a computerised online appointment system from January 1.
ReplyDeleteAccording to a press release of Passport Officer Jose K. Mathew the system has been worked out to minimise waiting time at the office.
i applied my passport before 3 months back.. but still i didnt got it .. what can i do for that
ReplyDeleteI applied for a new passport in Coimbatore Passport Office, I have not yet get my passport status online, But police enquiry has come to my home last week. but not get any status from online / sms status systems. passport.gov.in says My file reference number in invalid or not updated. what a lol...
ReplyDeleteI wanted to renew my passport through Tatkal scheme. A man & a lady in the Tatkal counters act very smart and made some false excuses to apply through normal procedure.
ReplyDeleteI have a savings bank account with transactions for the last 3 years but they insist on atleast 3 to 4 transactions every month. For what? Address proof... isn't one or two transaction not sufficient for them...
There were desperate travellers with wife & kids too who were trying to renew their passports having come down from US and other countries. The passport staff are not humane and very treating them with contempt and ridiculing them asking for unnnecessary documents etc.
But, there was a North Indian family who walked in straight with a tout to the counter without his number called for - the Passport staff collected his file with a big glee - just reviewed in a few seconds and approved for Tatkal.
The guy who collects cash just doesn't sit in his seat - but hangs around wasting his time walking around and make people wait for their receipts and original documents. He doesn't even anounce the names properly - two or three persons run to the counter thinking it's their name and when they come back their chair is occupied by someone else!!!
Coimbatore Passport office stafff neeeds to be drilled and given rigorous training in Jails so that these filthy bugs learn to work rightly, honestly with respect to the good citizens of India.
one of my friend recommended this person Zaman to get my passport renewed. Mr.Zaman (UAE travels) gave us a wonderful service in getting my passport renewed and we got a new passport applied through him for my wife. I contacted him from Chennai after visiting his blog.
ReplyDeleteI also asked him about the previous comment that says he is a cheater. He said that is all written by his competitors. He said his phone number and address is every where online, so how can he cheat he the very good record in getting passports. He can be reached on his phone or at his address if any real person has any grievance.
